School Programs:
I feel so privileged to be a part of community events like the recent
Day of Hope, where we remembered those who have been killed as a result of gang violence. Gatherings like this remind me how blessed I am, and inspire me to devote even more of my energy to sharing God's message.
This fall OOCHEE and Friends will present a newly revised clown program called
Bloomin' Buddies. This 45-minute musical presentation helps prevent bullying, gang involvement and drug use among youth. This engaging, high-energy presentation assures youth and adults alike that they can a make a positive difference in the lives of others. Woven throughout the show are

tips on building confidence, using words to solve problems, and respecting differences and feelings.
This summer a nine-year old boy recognized OOCHEE at his Vacation Bible School. He remembered that I had visited his regular school, too. "When I get angry, I'm supposed to stop and count backward and then use my words and not hit," he said. It had been two years since OOCHEE and Friends had performed at that school. It's a simple but exciting example of the impact
Bloomin' Buddies is making in the lives of our young children!

Speaking Engagements:

I'm a teacher at heart, so I'm looking forward to speaking at a Parent Education Forum on Wednesday, November 4th at Wesley United Methodist Church in Yakima. The topic is "Building Confidence in Children," and my talk will focus on communication techniques that parents and caregivers can use immediately to instill a sense of security and confidence in their children.
I'd be honored to come to your PTA meeting or church to make a similar educational presentation!
