The Kaleidoscope Konnections Story What began as a hobby many years ago while working in the field of education, has now become a life passion for Maureen Mould, aka “OOCHEE” the Clown. As OOCHEE she has brought hope, compassion, encouragement, and joyful learning experiences to children and adults alike throughout the United States and around the world. In 2004 a school district superintendent in Yakima, frustrated with the continuing stories from parents that their children were being bullied at school, asked Maureen to help. He said that every school in the district had policies and curriculum in place to stop bullying, but nobody was paying attention. Maybe, he thought, they would pay attention to some clowns. He asked Maureen to create an innovative, engaging and fun clown assembly that would encourage children in learning ways to preventing bullying and harassment. Thus Kaleidoscope Konnections was founded and the educational clown programs began. “OOCHEE” also enhances the faith journey of many as she brings a new “Ah Ha” to God’s unconditional love at adult and youth retreats, Vacation Bible Schools, camps, and church programs. Maureen uses her advanced degrees and her life’s experiences to train educators and other professionals, conducting workshops, retreats, presentations, keynote addresses and other humorous speaking. The organization provides a multi faceted kaleidoscope of services, thus the name “kaleidoscope.” |
